Spotlight Project: Small World Club & the Microscope Initiative
One outstanding example is our Small World Club, whose members borrowed an unused microscope previously retired from a UCLA research lab. Instead of collecting dust, this microscope became central to the club’s exploration of the microscopic universe:
- Hands-On Science: Children used the microscope to explore everyday objects—fruits, vegetables, flowers—and discovered amazing hidden worlds.
- Inspiring Creativity: Microscopic images inspired unique artwork, books, and merchandise, demonstrating science in a captivating and creative way.
- Educational Impact: The club’s published book, Art Under the Microscope, reached children locally and globally, making complex science accessible and fascinating.
How the Outreach Works:
